Cocoon of Forgetfulness
Painless metamorphosis,
wrapped in precious memories fading
No more chrysalis tears formed on the inside,
only blank stares
leading idle long flights to nowhere ...
Vacant whims drifting on a placid smile outside
Strange faces have a distant feel of familiarity,
but mothball unawareness
has eaten away at a lost, closed closet memory
Holey be those strained recollections ...
The agitated, sad faces are always
playing oddly haunting music —
Trying to get an emotional connection
The cocoon of forgetfulness
is so comforting ... guilt-free bound unburdening
Fading memories
is a painless metamorphosis
Alzheimer butterfly
soaring aimlessly on an ill cursed flight
Only pure silken threads of brief remembrance
frightens the calm occasionally at night
Blank thoughts
wrapped in a wet blanket of irrelevance
Important things
have long been grey matter buried since
On a dying descent,
proboscis curiosity last rite memento taste
the nectar kiss from a weeping stranger’s rosy lips
A fluttering memory of lucidity
gets taken by a paralyzing, black widow eraser grip
Alzheimer butterfly
permanently resting from it’s mindless flight,
with an unfathomable, wingless sigh
The dark cocoon sleep: chrysalis past deprived
yields to the vast void of a starlit sky
No more awakening to an empty question why
