Closing Eyes
Come close, darling, for I fear
Time together is leaving here
I lie awake for fear of passing
The time whilst my eyes are closing
As the world still spins, we may
Grow apart, I fear one day
So it is, this moment so fine
I must not let close these eyes of
mine
Lest they close and do my fear
Recognize and you move from here
Yet, my hope abounds
You remain till the morning sounds
Yes, I hope, a hope so sweet
As my eyes do close
And I fall asleep
