Class of 2003
In disbelief I ponder the years
So many trips around the sun
I dry a tear, while sitting here
Oh the things I could have done
Earned a degree in language arts
Or graphic design perhaps
But I didn't start, not in my charts
I didn't complete the math
Financial distress, I caused
The parents who paved my way
Missed every ball that was tossed
A fool who couldn't play
I see the class of 2003
The ones who took control
They're not like me, they couldn't be
I have a broken soul
Searching for reason to my rhyme
Disappointment rings daily
Time has become slippery slime
How it gets away from me
Each day I begin a mission
A scheme to become fulfilled
It's only wishing, I'm bait less fishing
Repairing the holes I've drilled
But one thing is most certain
The clock will tic and tock
Just a person with a burden
A worm beneath a rock
