Chrysalis
Safely cocooned in gossamer silence,
Hidden in the darkness of delicate silk,
Sleeping in the shadow of illusive dreams,
The softness of slumber seduces my soul.
Wrapped in the safety of womblike web,
Enclosed by shades of still dusky dark,
In my silently dreaming silk hiding place,
Seduced by my soft warm cocoon.
But security binds, that most gentle trap,
Protection weaves a fine web of deceit
Seemingly safe is static and still
Shed satin smooth dreams….and fly.
