Christmas Memories
CHRISTMAS MEMORIES
(We all have them!)
He use to sit in front of the nativity;
Lay under the tree at night,
Looking up through the lit branches,
Wondered, by both of these sights!
He played with the elves which were scattered,
Amongst the garlanded adorned house;
Loved reading Clement C. Moore's classic,
About the sugar plums, stockings and mouse!
The music, which filled the room,
From the corner, where stood the stereo,
Magically, lifted one's feelings;
Crosby, Perry and King Cole!
Decades have passed since those times;
Yet, the memory still fans the flames,
Though older and more seasoned now,
The reason for the season remains!
It's not about the tinsel and mistletoe;
It's not about pretty paper and bows;
It's not about what we have or not;
Except for who owns our soul!
Hold on to your Christmas Memories;
Look beyond all the bustle and hype;
Grasp on to the GOD given, true meaning,
Let the tears roll freely, un-wiped!
