This is a poem inspired by Andrea for a contest that she hosted last Christmas and I did not enter.  The first five lines were written last December (2015) before one of my many episodes of writers block set in and I could not finish it in time for the contest (sorry Andrea, better late than never).

Cold shimmers the frost in midnight moonlight. Holding fast to joyous thoughts, the child sleeps reveling in thoughts of sugar dusted dreams. In her world they are visions only, so close, so real but always in her mind. To taste her desire is her only wish. Marzipan candies for Christmas are all she wants, so sweet and delicate. Morning comes and around their small tree they gather giving thanks for the meager gifts there they find. In back under the branches she spies a bright red box on which is her name, candy, sweet sugary marzipan.

Such a touching acrostic - little things mean so much especially to those who have little in life. I adore chocolate covered marzipan James so it sure would be Christmas Magic if I find some this year... especially as we've not put a tree up lol:-)

Hi Jan, your not alone, we haven't put up a tree yet either. I've been working so much I have little time for anything anymore. Thanks for the wonderful comment and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
