Listen to poem:
Christmas Hope
by Bob Moore
I saw him standing on the corner, just the other day
I knew it really could not be, for he has gone away
the memories though are strong of him, at this time of the year
and as they flooded over me, I saw my father shed a tear
And then I saw the others, who’s memories I held dear
Mam, and family members, who have left, cross many a year
they were all standing there, just behind my dad
to see their faces once again, I felt both joy and sad
And now its Christmas morning, I know that they are here
I know that they are watching me, at this time of the year
the birthday of the Christ, our Lord, has not meant much to me
but as each year goes passing by, there’s hope that it could be.
