Christmas and Crosses
Where in life does it say that we must be strong?
When the cold sets in and the winters are long.
I am so damn glad when I am sad to hear a christmas song.
And for forgiveness from Jesus for all that I've done wrong.
When all the world becomes unfurled and rests upon your head.
And everything you've ever heard is only what you've said.
When the emptiness inside your soul makes you feel like you are dead.
Just get yourself a good nights sleep and take yourself to bed.
And when the angels wake you and raise you from your slumber.
Releasing you from fear and worry and all that they encumber.
And the fits within your dreams that turns and tosses.
Leaves such a grateful heart for christmas and crosses.
Now I feel I can go on.
Raise my head and face the dawn.
And know that when I see my fellow man.
That everyone is doing the very best they can.
So let your heart be filled with light.
When you have to face the long winters night.
And never mind the deficit of all your losses.
Just remember to be grateful for christmas and crosses.
