Children's Dreams
The dreams of children are simple things.
Of sunshine, laughter and a puppy's love,
Dress-up clothes or a new baseball glove.
The warm lap of comfort a mother brings.
These things should be every child's right.
For many these dreams will never come true,
Some little ones have a different view.
Their life is a struggle both day and night.
Food and shelter seem such a basic need.
To feel safe and warm at the day's end,
But so many for themselves have to fend.
How can these children possibly succeed?
Oh you kings in your castles so grand...
For dreams of children please take a stand.
