Children of a Lesser God

I’m tired of knowing That because of my race Because of where I live Because of my last name I’m part of the band… The children of a lesser God I’m tired of knowing That there is so much hate That it can only escalate Till someone presses the button And we blow up in nuclear hate All because Some of us are children… Children of a lesser God First world Second world Third world Labels and degrees Different ideologies Religion no longer a balm But something to cause harm Human life of differing values We mourn them differently for some of them are children... Children of a lesser God How it must make God cry When His children bleed and die Unable to understand That there is a grander plan One of perfect harmony In another place in time He won’t be sitting at heaven’s gate Asking for an ID Or checking your nationality He won’t see the color of your face Or ask about your race All He will want to know Is if you let love grow Did you live according to His will? Did you try to relieve suffering and pain? Were you the bandage of peace that bound up the wounds of hate? First, second, third world people Are all children of one God Though some may disagree I ask you all to see That we are all Every single one of us... Children of the Greatest God. Peace and tolerance to all the world. My respect for you grows daily, sister. May yours and mine never have to meet in combat - or any other living being. Off to faves. :)

Extremly moving Eileen. I believe that at any given time, we are at a place on the road towards world peace and harmony, the road is long and the fight hard. I'm sure this is His ultimate goal. Take care, Richard

Richard...love to read your posts...always. Well, I don't want to disappoint you, but I don't believe there will ever be world peace. The Bible says that we cry...peace peace but sudden destruction comes. Jesus' coming is the only thing that will end war, death and suffering. His coming is soon! In the meantime, we are to do what we can to "preserve the bond of peace" at all costs. :) Has Auntie got it right?

Humans seem to have a need to label it somehow makes us feel better about ourselves, superior part of something. most of our unhappiness is as a result of comparisons. we never feel good enough we always want more. when we have more someone else has less. the more we have the more selfish we become. thought provoking poem.

Thanks,Richard. Yes...I agree with all you have written. Apostle Paul says that he LEARNED to be content, whatever the situation. We need to think of the less fortunate and share the blessings we have and LEARN to be content. :)

Eileen... this moved me in a profound way. It's unimaginably sad to think of all labels and stereotypes being bandied about. It's irrevocably close-minded to think that God picked favorites when he created the world. I believe this is one your absolute best and am adding it to my favorites. I thank your for checking out so much of my work and just being a great friend in general.
