Childhood Brother
Childhood Brother
Me, a younger brother
Pulling each other’s leg
My temper was a bother:
A fuming powder keg.
Time has set the pace
For Us to adore another:
Mark of my own face
A cherished dear brother.
Tempers used to flare
With a Cold War fist fight
When we frenziedly dared
Both were pretty right.
Time is now all gone
Age has taken its toll
Each now strays alone
Sans mirth, sans thrall.
***
Take away a baby’s nappy
Leave an adult man unhappy:
Infancy has its own smile
And adulthood its own vile!
