Child of Thunder
lightening strikes once. twice. Boom.
as the sound of thunder fills the room
shaking the earth. the ground we walk
terrifying little children to babbling talk
it shoots from the sky without a backward glance
do we dare to go out and risk taking the chance
the thunder is only the innocent part
the lightening, however is the root. the heart.
it lights up the sky way up high
soaring quickly across the sky
breaking glass tearing down tree's
making sure the disaster is seen
finally the last rumble as it comes to an end
only talked about when we gossip with friends
but the night will drag on for that little child
those thunderous nights make life seem mild
