Checkin Out
Staring down at the doctors report
I let the inevitable sink in
My moment of truth has finally visited me,
Do i sink or swim.
Memories taken long for granted
Wash over my tired mind
Like ghosts who have come to lead me,
To a fate most unkind.
This is when you really start planning
Procrastination has to flee
There are steps that now need climbing,
So i can leave this world with ease
But i gotta go out swinging,
Its what God expects of me
Ill serve him til my last breath
And he comes to rescue me.
