Chasing a Dream

I chased a dream one day. I ran as fast as I could to catch it, but it didn't want to be caught. I stayed up late studying the most perfect strategy. I spent much time on my knees in prayer. It seemed the faster I sprinted the further it was from me. One day I grabbed a piece of its tail and oh the sense of great relief! Like there was a chance of achieving my dream. It slipped out of my hands the harder I tried, and it grew into the greatest desire of my heart until the Lord removed it from my sight. He replaced it with a new dream that is more attainable, pure, and true. Not some kind of fantasy that wasn't realistic from the beginning. Now I am chasing after a real rainbow. Now I can hold onto the wings of a butterfly and coast for a moment while catching my breath. I choose life and I choose freedom in my Lord. Not oppression of the enemy. Well, I must be going now! I gotta go and catch my rainbow! gwendolen rix 2-1-15
