Changes
Summer has past through
its hot sultry days of sun
Now slowly the leaves turn
glistening in hues of brown.
The air sharpens and cools
as the nights draw in faster.
Grains glimmer ready now
for plucking from their ears.
Rich scents of sun ripened fruit
hangs in the still air enticingly.
The smells of lunch mingling
to the heavily scented bouquet.
Icy fingers of winter awake
impatient to do their worst.
Soon the lands will lie
under a blanket of snow.
