There once was a man.
A man who loved me.
He left for a time.
When he returned.
He was not the same.
I had feared this would happen.
He said not to worry.
I tried not to worry.
I ended up being right about worrying.
He said he went for us.
To save us.
We were fine in my mind.
I guess in his mind we were messed up.
I tried being perfect when he returned.
I couldn't help but show my disappointment.
In the end we left each other.
We never talked again.
I haven't heard from him since.
Yesterday I was walking the streets and saw him.
He had a beautiful wife and a daughter.
She called for her.
Piper was her name.
That was our dream.
They had rings.
They look so happy something I haven't been since we split.
He saw me standing there with tears running down my face.
He looked happy and sad about seeing me.
In the end I just left and went to a better place.
Somewhere I could look over him.
I was finally happy up there.
The moral to this poem is don't go or change if she pleads you not too.
