Cerebral Travel
Looking back not long ago,
Hard to see where did it go,
Over the dam jump a creek,
We'd run and play hide and seek,
Ride our bikes then climb a tree,
Tripped and fell skin my knee,
Braid a rope play in the hay,
Make a swing Tarzan all day,
Guns, rifles, and cowboy hats,
Baseball gloves, bases and bats,
Fishing poles to catch a frog,
Crawl real slow over the log,
Hickory logs we cut one day,
Hard work it was, to us play,
Twelve feet square window and door,
One way roof and a dirt floor,
Rafters up still see the sky,
Time moves on and birds will fly,
Hoe the garden pull the weeds,
Plow the field then plant the seeds,
Cut the hay and mend the fence,
Did our chores it all made sense,
Went to school had lots of fun,
Skip a week went on the run,
Bought a car my junior year,
Straight eight block I had no fear,
Pontiac a fifty-four,
Front bumper gone and tudor,
Out at night we both would go,
Mom and dad would never know,
Time goes on, we tell it all,
So you know we had a ball,
We now have kids we're no fool,
They think smart and really cool,
What's not thought by you or me,
Our kids conjure wait and see.
