Castles and Dreams

In a written note I tell a thousand words, Words which talks of a soul so free, Everyday my diary is filled with words, Telling of a life lived in ups and down. The down side doesn’t bring me down, But the up side keeps pushing me up, Because I refuse to let them push me down. I have been there and done that, With every breath my lungs became dry, I lived a life larger than life itself, Where I was the king and the servant. With this my kingdom became bigger, For no one but I lived in the castle, A castle that I built in the air. The castle was blown away by wind, Because the foundation was weak, For nothing was there to support it, And loneliness even made it worse. It was like a dream torn apart, Gone with the wind never to be back, As the high walls falls down bare. With all this I turned to my ups, I stopped building castles in dreams, And made them in reality of this life, Where foundations are never shaken. The wind could not blow them away, And the wall did not crumble again, Because I lived a life of reality and truth, Filling my diary with a positive vibe. BERNARD WACHIRA ORIGINAL POEM.
