Cascades

A boisterous sheet of morning-fresh water tumbled, discharging tumult of noisy explosion down rockface while torrents of catapult-rainbows caught sunshine from the top of the towering fern-crowned mountain, splintering light as holding straight course chute met huge implosion that quelled further sound. Breaking surface cataract rumpus lay quiet, flat-plate calm of limpid sun-filtered lake breathed a peace when swam a vision from black rocky side head high and gliding, mouth filled with green weed. Silent he floated then dipping began furry antics of random, wild-eyed, free diving display, slipping occasional glances my way, fear reverted and threat forgot in gleeful cascades of Otter elation. Soon distanced to a shimmering wet dot contact with one untameable Otter in his haven sporting under falling water for me, I never forgot.

Hi Linda - - Thank you for a caring welcome to this friendly site at Poetry Soup - - I hope to be posting more poems soon but must find my way around a bit better first -- I will check out the contest page before too long - - my poetic skills are mostly inspired by what I see and feel about the wonderfully changing countryside and coast line in Cornwall U.K. during every season - the place where I live is both ancient and magical - I write romantic verse too and am published in book form on Amazon - I look forward to reading your work here and thank you once again.

Thank you Manmath for this friendly welcome - I am still trying to find my way around PS with all its validations etc. but hope to write and post more poems describing the beauty of Cornish coastlines where I now live.
