Carving Pumpkins

I love pumpkins sure All those big and small are fine The big ones are best But the miniature ones Can be lots of fun as well I enjoy carving Pumpkins into feared faces Those creepy dark ones Then I light them from inside Perfect for Halloween night

I've never made one, but I can see what fun it would be. I read somewhere that some people used turnips - not so much fun to carve, I'd imagine!

We have a few in the garden..Some small ones and some that are white that are medium size..We have gourds of many varieties out there..The hummers leave here also in winter even though some who are authorities say that some over winter here I have never seen one in winter..They like a plant called Althea also..I enjoyed reading your Tanka creation..I remember years ago that I took a pumpkin to school to a kindergarten class .We carved it, one little boy was slipping the inside and the seeds.Sara
