Carried Away
`
Carried away, on a breeze meant for summer
gathering sights left alone for a while
Spreading my wings up above where shes resting
wandering free in my own empty style
Singing along with a meadowlark choir
landing a branch that is lonely of leaves
Drifting along between maple tree wishes
dreaming in ink filled with words she believes
Floating around on a cloud made of cotton
scanning the earth waiting down there below
Following themes that I know are for certain
dressed in the footprints now left in the snow
Landing so soft from this midday excursion
looking about, seeing nothing at all
Wondering what was my true destination
hard to believe that I didn't just fall
