Carpe Diem

If every solemn night you wish For dreams to become real While daylight hours are spent in vain No higher goals appeal Then how shall any wondrous joy Upon you be bestowed? When your own hands rest in your lap No effort have you showed For waiting doesn't prosper one When action is required And patience only goes so far When meaning is desired Get up now from your idle seat And seize what's left of now Grasp every single ounce of joy This new day will allow!

You're absolutely right Donna! I'm gonna get up out of my seat right now!...and go get a latte from starbucks...and return to my desk to finish this report I'm procrastinating...then pay my bills online..then go home and walk the dog...then worry about something new I don't know about yet...then age 40 years and never realize it...then feel like my life is wasted when I'm an old man...and then finally it'll be over. Still though, I could use that latte:)

This poem describes myself perfectly.. Waiting around, hoping things will just fall into my lap, but deep down I know it's my own laziness that's killing me I looooove this poem :D

Strong words filled with much wisdom, Donna. Too much time is waisted dreaming and wondering. We have to take action to find "every single ounce of joy." Great work! Love, Carolyn
