Cardinal and Rose

Rose, in your redolent, roseate glow - your firelight petals like hearth of home - I alight with messages from beyond walls of night, imparting hope over din of planetary spin. It's a reciprocal transmission. Two energies vibrating veracity. Transference of truth, proboscis to petal, secrets to sepals, faint signals to stamen and stigma, exchanging the numinous universal codes. Luminous wings flickering like tentative candle flames or a breeze ballet of cardinal crocus flames. Antennae telegraphing otherworldly signals, strobe-spinning the globe with light codes to shake the shackles and free humanity once imprisoned by dark-world weaponry. An infusion of love, pollination of light - new earth emerging from chrysalis of night. 14 January 2023

This perspective is refreshing. Charlotte, you use, I'd say a touch of abstract and science. Congratulations on your win!

It looks like you won with this one, from what I am seeing from Craig's comment below. A big congratulations to you. I never can please Craig with free verse. It's just not in me to write the way you do. Well done, lady!!

Pollination of light. Loved that phrase. We need lots of love in this world.

"Pollination of light," "vibrating veracity," "cardinal crocus flames" and I could go on and on Charlotte. Truly you were "in the groove" dancing cheek to cheek with your muse when you created this stunning poem. Congratulations do not do it justice but they are more than well deserved! A new earth indeed - one to look forward to each morning! All the best.

Charlotte, there is much about this that is "Too Good" for this contest (that's a compliment) I don't find who wrote to my contests because I respect some so much that I would favor them---yet, after the fact, you've written a complex masterpiece I should have dwelled on much longer...and, if I had, would have favored it much higher--thank you for sharing--always!

Life itself is amazing, but chrysalis is like some futuristic invention that I think we still don't quite get. In the broader scheme of life, is there a darker love running through this poem, maybe hidden.
