Cardboard Castles

I’ve looked for you all of my life from sights first wonder, newness of light in secret meetings of shadow time beneath a dream’s painful decline To decades loss, needless stain I sought you in each drop of rain In sun’s descent for dimming shade life at harbor, hearts at rage in cardboard castles, child escape kingdom chairs, blankets drape in lust release, vice contained in fire a guilty soul sustains I looked for you there, and would I still If ours, a order fate couldn’t fill I’d peer from death - grip of the slave - look for you there, even the grave
