My heart goes out to my wife. Her friend Cindy is fighting the battle of her life. Donna is standing strong with her good friend.
Anyway it’s all been on my heart lately as she’s been staying with Cindy some. So I started writing the other day. At first it seemed like I was writing something to the Lord, which is kinda different for me. Then it seemed like I was writing to Donna. Lol then I couldn’t decide if the personality of the song was to Donna or the Lord. Finally it dawned on me. Which was it? Her? Or Him? The answer? Yes.
It’s raw and unpolished. Kinda had the tune to Colder Weather by Zack Brown in my head as I was writing if you can hear it.
I call it
“Captivated“

Something about You always pulls me in And I cannot look away Every hope or dream I’ve ever had I see within your face I’m captivated . And there’s a pain in you That I can not comprehend Cuts through me like a cold north winter wind Yet it warms my soul And the more I feel alone the more I feel I know you I’m captivated . Your eyes ..... They burn right through me And reveal every secret about me that I could never keep I’m amazed .... Somewhat afraid.... Yet I’m not ashamed I’m captivated . And there’s a pain in you That I can not comprehend Cuts through me like a cold north winter wind Yet it warms my soul And the more I feel alone the more I feel I know you I’m captivated . You’re my hunger in the pain You’re my longing in the rain You’re every teardrop that I’ve cried Every smile I’ve ever smiled Every laughter of every child, that there’s ever been You pull me in I’m captivated . Your hands ... Have never been cold Somehow I know They could hold me through a midnight storm And when the storm comes And you hold me You and I and the storm That makes three And I’m not alone I’m captivated . Your Love... Is more than I can fathom Like a raging river running Overflowing and flooding everywhere I’ve ever been And that something about you always pulls me in And I cannot look away I’m captivated You’re captivating.
