Capricious Sea

Let us go down, and visit the sea. Let us go down to see how she lies. Will she roll gently, whisper secrets to me, or rise in anger and spit at the skies? Ships toss and pitch in a savage sea, creak and groan in hapless agony, calling for Jesus to walk on her face, gather the storm, and quickly erase. But the sea goes wherever she will she laughs at our fear and chagrin "Hold still," she says, "and watch me bury your guilt, wash away your sin."
