Canvas Unmoved
Stillness
Canvas unmoved
Picture now painted
Where whispy gray clouds rule
Sun cast red on the horizon
Warns of foul weather ahead
Even jet exhaust is gray
Gives onlookers dread
The birds don't seem seem excited
For happily they wing
Roosters' crowing fills the valley
I wonder why they delightedly sing
Each inch of the sunrise
Changes the color of the sky
Cotton candy clouds float nearby
Soon the sun will rule
Heat the earth and the trees
For now the morning is glorious
Comfort and joy that please
There is always a moment in time
When the sun seems to back down
All becomes darker
Clouds wear a frown
Now gold sand fills the sky
Those clouds all aglow
The sun waits awhile
As the paint settles and moulds
Soon the precious minutes will cease
Work will rule the day
But in these moments brief
My spirit fills and plays
