Can'T Break Me

Out of the darkness Struck like a lightning bolt He came without warning Like a lion striking his prey. He may have my purse Took all that I had with me, But you can't take my pride You can't break my spirit. Though in a state of shock and horror I know that I'll recover For time heals all wounds The piper will pay the price. I'll keep my head high Keep looking for tomorrow Growing stronger and being wiser From the trauma that I've faced. I won't let it happen I'll be on my guard For like the strongest steel You won't break me.

Oh what a traumatic experience so eloquently penned :-( We currently have a wave of burglaries on our little island - 30 in about 10 days - its unprecedented and naturally people are feeling very un nerved by it :-( Hugs Jan xx rated 7 from me:-)

Thanks-this poem was inspired by a horrific event that took place last night-my aunt was robbed by A SCUMBAG ROBBER who took her purse that had her ID and other belongings. I was so angry and horrified that my aunt was attacked by a piece of trash of a street rat that has the nerve to rob innocent, hard-working people. My Aunt is in shock and traumatized by the event-but I know that she'll recover and grow strong. I PRAY THE police will catch that bastard and throw the book at him! I know some of us out there might have faced the same dilemma, but we learn and grow for the robbers may steal our stuff-but they can't break us.
