Candlelight

Storm knocked out the power, the candles are now lit Ice cream is going to melt, so let's make a banana split Bring out the board games, time to use our skills and wit Conversations are much better, don't you agree a little bit Let's snuggle to keep warm come over here with me and sit Making memories by candlelight is the best we must admit. by Cecilia Macfarlane for Russell Sivey's "By Candlelight" contest.

Personally I love it when the power goes out that is as long as it doesn't stay out for more that a day. My fridge will hold out that long if not opened too much. I like how this almost forces the family to interact and be together like it should be. May life be as much of a blessing to you as you are to it. Huggs TLee

I've had this experience before, using only candlelight. Too bad I didn't have bananas and ice cream that windy, cold night! Loved this poem -- very entertaining Always, Laura
