Can You Please Teach Josie

Can you please teach Josie how to crochet? I was surprised, and scared. I have not crocheted for over fifty years. But I remembered how to do it. So I brought crochet hooks, and my daughter bought yarn I figured my eleven-year-old granddaughter would tire of it fast. She got on U-tube, and crocheted herself the cutest white cap in one single day! So today, a day later, I decided to show her how to knit. I was not able to remember how. Watched some videos, but was confused with circular knitting needles. So my daughter bought some old-fashioned straight needles. The second I saw them I remembered how to knit. She is knitting herself a blanket while I type this. Amazing! I am thrilled to say she may learn embroidery tomorrow. Embroidering is my favorite craft.

This is so grand! My wife learned how to do all of that needlework from her paternal grandmother, and it stayed with her throughout her life...with many wonderful stories about her grandmother, too. So promising, Caren.

I have to admit I taught her and her 17-year-old sister how to embroidery before I left their house in Nebraska this morning and drove the four hours back to Kansas City. They were engrossed in it when I left.
