Call On My Name

Lost among shadows of solitude’s flow Stained glass illusions destroying her heart Sadness competes for a seat on the row Little it knows long ago brought it’s start Sorrow now lingers the depth to believe Longing some guidance, the proof to be shone Sitting alone in the silence this eve Feeling this night is now all she has known Gone every hope of her desperate fears Dreamed inspiration of moments unable Drowned in the waves of her unending tears Life plays it’s hand as it folds on the table Merely a light in the darkness to shine Silent her prayer sent aloft, up above Doubtful at best of now crossing the line Never again to know eternal love When like an echo, a voice it does call An answer perhaps to her last whispered prayer I will be near if ever you fall Call on my name, I shall always be there 12/22/20 Written for the: A Rhyme Story-Poem With Eyes On Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Mystic Rose Rose

Chris, The title of a poem with a promise 'Call on my name'. Life is all about the hands we've been dealt. Quite a message. -Richard

Happy New Year Chris. This describes the sadness of a being, feeling lost ,fearful and alone, with the last hope of prayer..But the ending describes comfort..There's that someone who will always be there for her..That brings so much warmth and a promising brighter future to her lost soul.Awesome Chris..Needed this write.

Chris, I love it....I told the sun who told the sky who told the clouds and made them cry, the rain drops told a bumble bee who told a rose who told a tree, the tree then told a butterfly who told a bluebird flying high, who told the stars who told the moon Now we all say please get well soon. Happy New Year. Hugs Eve

How cool, Chris. A poem of great proportions, neat meter. I have a fetish for, if it can be done, limited line beginning letters. I am salivating over your poem, on the repeated 'L' and 'S' beginnings, mixing a few 'D' s in beneath. An odd comment (another), could you have 'share' as your last word or 'care' to rhyme. I only say this because I see excellent work throughout your write. Congratulations on your Win on the tightly honed list...!
