Bygones

A longing churns within my soul A hunger unfulfilled I smash the crystal hourglass The sands of time are spilled I dip my toes into the sand My eyes begin to burn I wipe a hot escaping tear As memories return I try to drag them back with me Into the here and now But they embody youthfulness And I’ve forgotten how I used to measure happiness By counting every kiss Collecting pictures in my mind For such a time as this But as my thoughts seek treasure deep Within the mounting sand My soul is busy stringing pearls Unearthed by Wisdom’s hand

I come back to this poem and comment because this is another one of your written beauties. There is so much to say in the world of poetry but what you are revealing is a true blessing for others to ponder and use as inspiration and motivation. There are a lot of people that are members but there are a lot of people that aren't registerd that come through daily and get a good read. And if they read yours they'll certainly get a great read. You have a well developed gift that is a tool to do good.

I'm a nostalgia freak at times and we tend to look back and see only the good, forgetting the hardships. I liked this poem. Vince
