Bye Week
What does a football fan do during a bye week?
Are there other pleasures we followers can seek?
According to the league’s current schedule,
our hometown heroes do not play and are idle.
There are plenty of other games we can see.
They are carried by all the major networks on TV.
We have to settle to watch teams of a different name.
Fans try to get into it, but it’s not the same.
The scores of other games do not interest me.
Up to fourteen days can seem like an eternity.
May this bye week for my team pass quickly.
