By the Moon
Endless oceans hide you from true peace
Lightning stricken from reality
Fabrics torn into your form
Teardrops hiding secret agony
Of these waters we were born
Only to be lost within their depths
Told that we must wage our wars
If we wish to earn respect
Blood is shed and draws the beast
From the mist it did emerge
Fatality rests upon our shoulders
Whispers in your ear that death has learnt
All your secrets and every lie
There's no hiding from your reflection
As you see it they stare back
With no meaning, time's suspension
As you realize you have no protection
From the demons that you face
Within your own might, weakness beckons
Every love has been erased
Now your face holds no expression
For this moment you'll be safe
When you realize it was the waters
That form the mirror, that interlaced
Every moment you thought your own
Was but an Illusion, nothings changed
No more knowledge could be kept
For the words are forever chained
Memories repressed into non existence
Any true wishes now are caged
This is the life of the death you feign
Exertion is held but never remains
Your essence leaking from your core
Drops of soul upon the ground
Eyes that don't see any more
Lips that meaning never found
Spirits stretch beyond the walls
That now surround you is this room
You hear frequencies and music
derived from instruments with no tune
With a shiver on your spine
You see your strings and you assume
To feel the presence that hides your shadow
For it is the curse cast by the Moon.
