By the Mill One Day
Air so still,
as I sit here by the old mill.
Listening to a robin speak to me,
making my heart jump with glee.
Sweet lilac do I smell on this wonderful day,
watching water flowing by this bank I'll stay.
Time has moved so fast,
since I was a young lad, thought it would last.
This is a new world of dreams,
I want to stay here,
never waking up, so peaceful,
is it here, and so clear.
If life was like this for real,
would never leave this mill,
so peaceful and quite with the air,
so still.
