Butterfly Dreams
I could have all the stars sing for you
Even the winds would pause and listen
The angels would hum along
Little babies would giggle at such a blissful sight
Yet you still would not sleep
For who would miss such an enchanted lullaby?
I could tell the rain to dance for you
Dance at the rhythm of its own fall
Splashing little sparkles of diamond in the moonlight
Teasing the moon to bring about a rainbow
Yet you would giggle to yourself and not sleep yet
For you find it not sweet to miss such a splendor of nature.
Or I could just sit and read to you about Georgie Porgie
Who found the girls playing and kissed them all
But we both know such a story is not exactly a bed time story
For you would rather stay up all night
And make your own bedtime story
So I will just sit here, look at you, and smile
Smile away all your sorrows and sooth your withered heart
But not a poem shall I tell
For all I will ever say is GOOD NIGHT
