Butterfly

Butterfly… I was in a cocoon dark and cold, hallow from within silvery gold. Walls of the darkness trapped my soul. Wishing and hoping to find a hole. I got the courage to break my mold, when you take chances secrets unfold. I broke the darkness, into the light; the sweet pleasures of the life delight. I drank the nectar and flaming dew. Happy and drunken, my life renew. I kissed the lips of a golden bud, the meaning of love flooded my blood. I flapped my wings of purple and blue, danced with the wind, in garden, I knew. Flew with love and a bundle of joy; doing things that I always enjoy. I heard a sound from a nearby room, shouting at me you can only assume; wake up and get up, morning has passed, none of this nonsense ever will last. 11/2015 Haloo

Indeed... sometimes there is a dream within a dream, a man dreaming a butterfly and he dreams of a man. Sometimes I'm confused, am I a man or a butterfly... thanks for reading my work...

A poet is a writer but a writer is not necessarily a poet. A verse is a grouping of words although technically it was once a single metrical line in a poem. Some may refer to a verse as a stanza. I hope this helps somewhat. Also I think poets have very interesting ways of viewing what may seem to others as quite ordinary. The gift of seeing what for some is unseeable and then somehow helping them see it, is the gift of poetry.

I agree with your first and your last statements. Poet paints the words and a writer, write the words. When I am reading some of these poems willfully they write it not to make any sense; bunch of words with ludicrous puzzles that got in a way of true understanding as well as true feeling. I understand ambiguity, but non sense, I do not.
