Butterflies of Beauty
As I wandered through the wood
Delighting in the shade,
In the very heart of it
I found a hidden glade.
In that glade a sunbeam shone,
A shaft of golden light.
And into that sunbeam
A butterfly took flight.
A swirl of iridescent blue
Glinted in the sky,
As gossamer wings carried it
Aloft and way up high.
It fluttered through the sunbeam,
It twirled and spun around.
Then danced a little pirouette,
There stood I, spellbound.
A little piece of heaven
Played out before my eyes.
It took but a sunbeam,
And a dancing butterfly.
