But a Man
I am... but a man,
A man consumed by tragedy;
Living in a world of consumers,
Tainted dreams within reality.
Yet I am but a man...
A man without a choice...
Stuck between fact and fiction,
Armed with just a voice.
I am still but a man,
A man living constant torment...
Drifting from one day to the next,
Taunted by my heart's discontent;
Yet I am but a man...
A man revised by experience...
Taught to accept lies,
For truth bares only consequence.
I am but a man,
A man disguised in plastic skin...
Listening quietly without resent;
Watching as we fail again...
And I am... but a man,
A man consumed by tragedy;
A beast's reflection in the mirror...
But at least I know it's really me.
