Buster the Duster

We once had a rooster named Buster Whose aggression caused quite a fluster, So the old chopping block Arranged him for soup stock; And the rest of him, a feather duster.

Not bad at all. A good use of a mean rooster. Again the culture is great. There's nothing like knowing where food comes from. Many have gotten completely away from it. I imagine you must be cold down there, but at least the days are getting longer!

G'day Duke... its been our coldest July for donkey's years, but I know it will get warmer. You're dead right about knowing where our food comes from. God only knows what chemicals we're storing in our bodies these days - catch you Duke - Lindsay

Oh yes. Their feathers would make a great feather dust but are unlucky to have in the house. You are a great tonic in the mornings. SuZ

Hello Suzanne... No, and that's a good thing, although I reckon a peacock call is more annoying because they don't shut up all day. Thanks again for reading my poem Suzanne - Lindsay

Hi there Kim... I don't think I've ever written anything in senryu form Kim but I have taken a shine to attempt limericks. Thank God the crowing doesn't come with the feathers though. Wouldn't want to be woken up by a feather duster at dawn - catch you Kim - Lindsay

Hello James... I was strongly advised that once the head was separated from the body, I must hold the wings tight against the body or the chook will flap its wings for some time, and yes, I have seen a headless chook scarp around but I'm not sure for how long - thank you James - Lindsay
