Beautiful imagery, Lady Labyrinth, a soulful journey through life and love, magic and reality where even death has no dominion. Great poem.

Congratulations on this gem being awarded with POTW honors my friend. A most well deserved choice in this old poet's judgement! I so totally agree with Connie's comments, this is indeed a masterpiece. I saw that when I read it and first commented 5-19... Never give up your gifting your work to the world.. God bless..

I am sorry to hear of your loss Connie, all love out to you and yours. A mother never truly leaves, she is always with you/us. Even those who think they have escaped, the confining boundaries - good mothers never leave, they remain in some form to protect you/us. Thank you for the kind comment, during what must be a sad time for you. xx

WOW!!! What a creative write. You are a magical writer. Below, I like where you said, This is a poem about transformation through death. Not much more positive than that. The Sun pulls souls out eventually. "Just a thought." At the end of your poem if you had the word Note: with what you wrote about your poem, I think the readers would understand it better. Have a blessed day writing your magical writes............

I don't know Madama Goldsmith, did all these other poets, the laureates, the classics and the modern poets, find the need to include author's notes? My links and comments would not fit in the body context under the poem, so I fill in the empty comment boxes (usually) with my links and thoughts....as well as my responses to any comments that come in. My poetry is substandard to those poets I mentioned in this comment previously. Perhaps it is up to the reader to interpret for themselves. Abstract art or poetry, has many ways of being interpreted by the minds of those who view or read. Even as I read back my own poetry, I can interpret other meanings - it's a complex labyrinth, a poet's mind. Thank you for the comment.

“A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity. It dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path." The Last Seance (from The Hound of Death and Other Stories, also Double Sin and Other Stories). Agatha Christie, The Hound of Death

hold on now. I have finally reached this plateau and to warm this old poet's heart I find a poem about --death.. A Poe inspired dark rendering -complete with excellently chosen imagery! You have definitely pulled out all the stops with this one!!! Music, images, creativity, essence of life, love, symbolism and so very much more.

dimensions...we are all part of our own dreams, recycled. What did Shakespeare say, "Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep." William Shakespeare/ The Tempest, Act 4 Scene 1

I see this poem- this new offering will take me a few dozen reads to start to get the truth of its representation. And only then that truth will be the one that comes to me through my own dim and biased interpretations based upon my own feeble human capacity to think, hope, see, feel, imagine, etc, etc.. Already this one has given me an inspiration to compose a new poem-- maybe even do so this week!! And yes, this one is definitely and magnificently great! A fav-- a wondrous gem to behold and ponder its author's immense talents.. God bless.
