Burnt Aqua
"Burnt Aqua"
I can taste the sun
on my tongue
it spills down
my throat
like burnt aqua
healing the beating frisson
I am ebony inside
shading in my shadow world
some somnolent soul
waking from slumber’s dream dance
a small death in life
questioning the reason in romance
dark suede and cat like
I wait out time watching
nights and days pass
through the silver crystal glass
long stemmed I am like grass slowly waving
around the growing ghost frame
snow white in a cellophane doll box
waiting to be wound up
kissed through the frost
woken from a bad passe past
weaving different stories
gone on the eyes,
wasted on deaf ears
bookmarked
between leaves of
Arden Forest green
heard but not seen
music notes catnip
for the untouched unreal
cooling the purring engine
of my rolls royce heart
the doll maker is light
pulling the strings
tinkering and stitching
tightly back up
the empty
unanswered
dry questions
inside the
subsiding
me
where is the cardinal red ambrosia
love notes unfurling o'er budding wild roses
underground I am drunk in,
wrapped in a glove of rich soil
the metronome has stopped
the dancing voice bestilled
beetles keep me company
the mind trapped
in Autumn’s thorns
bloody valentines
gone all murderous
burnt aqua turns
to brine tincture
curling itself
around the twisted roots
catching me up in the
thirsty circles in a tree
the history a sharp point
like a record groove crackling
over the many fragments of me
salty marmalade
burnt bitter
spread out
on your picnic table
Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe
disappearing without noise unperturbed
what was once gold
on the surface
now reversing in depth
green copper composite
oxygen gives breath to turquoise
an adornment in death
rust, ashes and dust
within the cracked earth of me
eyes like moonstones
watching the events unravel calmly
the brittle bones dissolving slowly
an abstraction easily forgotten
a new painting
macabre masterpiece
six feet under
vast fields of tombstones
prison kept memories
nettles and purple lantana
trampled and overgrown
by nubile fresh stories
a bouquet of budding black tulips
gifted for the dearly departed
overhead -
the nightingales and bluebirds
Salon des Refusés
forever black crowing
paradoxically ignorant and all knowing
tie ribbons of scarlet
around trees for the lost dead
the sky cries
the soft burn of rain falls
on the heads of habitual sisters
congregated mauve dreams
once fashionistas
now silver fox curls
once was a girl
the skeletal dreams call
unaware walking feet
echo above me
percussion beats
topside the written line
like soft velvet drums
demanding
I am anchored
below the grassy sea,
the view is commanding
worms peeling me
like a sweet tangerine
I am soul birthing
a new phantom
in this perilous magic
something kind and kindred
whispers in the lost child’s ear.
“this is the ghost
of the once was escaping”;
haunted,
she hears
she feels me
in the Summer breeze

"Colours dance before our eyes
starbursts take us up and down
through tunnels
rollercoaster rides home -
sex, love, birth, death,
all through spectral colours,
life sensual senses something electric,
close and far away,
in the green and blue dance."
