James, I love to hear those horns roaring on all of the "ancient life" movies. And I've run in the hills (MANY years ago) of Texas where Native Americans lived and roamed, too. I have felt a connection there. And that's where I shouted my first primal yell and felt the freedom... running in the wild. I enjoyed this poem, James.

The title intrigued me. Wonderful use of sound images forward your thoughts in a creative way. I like the way the first and last lines work together--gives the poem a connected feel. Thank you for sharing this one with us and for your kind comments. Have a wonderful weekend. Karen

good on yer! Mate! Strine-alike!...I belong to the USBA (United States Boomerang Association) and have 4-bullroarers in my kit! I always begin a throwing session by honoring the four-winds with my bullroarers, if they sing, I proceed! I love boomerang poetry! if time permits, visit my poem-'Autumn Wind'..a true story! love this poem of yours, Highlander!...Jim
