To live in the insidious bubble that perpetuates fantasy at the expense of living life in all its threatening splendor is truly a questionable choice.
Bubbledom
by Odin Roark
How frothy
That first taste
When some upper layer
Seems the treat d’ jour
Whether in big business
Big politics
Big Hollywood
Or Wall Street
Aspirations to be part of that bubble
Prove anything but frothy
How seductive the connection
To feel complete
Without threat from the outside
Without knowledge of collateral lives
Such an existence
Seemingly insulated from jeopardy
Ignores outside reality
Shuns cognizance of truth
Lines swell
Vicarious pursuit grows
So many now crowd inside the bubble
That never pops
Until it does
