Every morning at 3 am you started coughing Non stop, scaring me in my sleep Worrying me in my wake You never woke up during those coughing spells I would adjust the temperature To ensure comfort I would put the light on To make sure you were fine I would call your name But you never answered You were sleeping Comfortably Soothe my soul mother of life Guide me by night father of army Sing to me pure child That the bad to expel That the good to stay Night and day never astray
