Broken Veins
The sun falls like a rock slide
go ahead and let it die
I have no use for an entity that mocks me
I have no use for sunshine
for rain clouds are my true desire
Thunder for comfort, lightening for rage
yet I'm denied both
as the rain imitates my tears
smearing the pavement as I smear the makeup upon my face
Why bother to keep this appearance
if I exist as none
a nobody
Why bother to keep this appearance
if I revel in its majestic royalty solo
except for the ridicule from unknowns
My indifference refuses to care
but I dare to feel
I dare to sit in the pouring rain
razor in hand
cut the veins that fade
to change my blood from red to black
to match the pigment of my heart
My indifference says to stitch the wounds
but I dare to feel dead
and that's where I leave it
