Broken & Torn

You walked into my life as a mystery And I worried of what we'd come to be But you convinced me to push my fears aside, To love you, and in you, confide You knew my past that I so despised All my future hopes that turned to lies You knew my fear, to re-live it again You said it's different now, and that was then You made me promises that I believed I took my wall down and was so relieved But you broke each and every promise made And all your vows, you never paid Instead you left me lying on the ground Closed up, where I can't be found You took my heart as you walked away And I've been broken and torn ever since that day
