Brightest Before the Dusk
Endless stretches or turquoise,
Ivory tufts of stain,
Showering bits of gilded
warmth,
Simmering, refrain.
Subtle shift of ombré,
Blushing cheeks and breast,
Tickle azure nudity,
painless, pinching breath.
A subtle drip of peach and
pearl,
Caress the rosy bride,
Double dipped in pastel and
innocence,
Amiss of any pride.
Golden edges lick and burn,
Ember to a flame,
Red-hot neon and silhouettes,
Strangers still the same.
A pinch of violet, navy grey,
Swirls of silver stars,
Lifeless, silent lullaby,
City lights in jars.
Bleeding onyx, crawling walls,
Longing, lingers still,
Sullen, unsung soliloquy,
Weary from the kill.
