Breathe the Beach

Brown berry skin all covered in sand White ribbon hair with pale yellow ends Salty in smile, a grin to the wind Children born unto the sea Plastic pail castles with driftwood for flags Shells clink and clankle in white paper bags Noon is a time warp that stretches and drags the sun 'till it snaps ricochet Boats flying by us with cursive pun names Dolphins below them in bubbling games Cameras snap photos in permanent frames all in the blink of an eye Brutal the afternoon people to bake Some soaking sun sleep, and some wide awake All with a vigor the sea breath to take to carry it's purity home.
