Bravehearts Demise
Blinded by loss of thelLove his tormentors denied
Driven by hope but bewildered by he who had lied
Let loose like a fury but mindful of all that he loved
The freedom to live as a man or to die like a martyred dove
Both brave of the mind and the heart, as his brothers in arms
Life on the run in the highlands, staying just out of harm
Strike with the vengeance of God & the wrath of the damned
With God on his side, life unfolds as a legend has planned
Whispering love on the breath of an angel of peace
Blown kisses of star spangled hope, falling just outta reach
Tempered and hardened, by doubt, in the blink of an eye
Lost in a veil of uncertainty, destined to die
Only faith holds the key, to the promise of Heaven to come
Only steel traps the body and soul, 'til the mind will succumb
Beaten and broken of body, but free of the soul
God grant me the strength not to cry out, at the cost of the toll
