Bottom of the Tank

When I sit down to write my poetry And my mind goes totally blank Must admit at times I wonder Have I reached the bottom of the tank? So I say to myself, hang in there self It's happened many times before Just when I think I've hit the bottom Out pops a whole bunch more Should know by now how it all works These lulls are a temporary thing Something will always trigger a concept And once again my poetry sings So the key word surely is patience Rome wasn't built in a day I'll be hit by some poetic thunderbolt And again I'll be on my way When I sit down to write my poetry I think of how much I've been blessed Still have the ability to express myself Goes a long way to relieving stress! © Jack Ellison 2013

As long as your mind is active as it is currently I don't see you being in writers block for long! I go on big spurts of inspiration myself... unfortunately that comes with long drawn out spaces of NO writing, too. I hope the bottom of your tank is a long, long way from now!

The reason I can keep posting two a day, even when not feeling well, is that I had an archive of about 800 poems. Starting to get near the end now though!

All I have to do is watch my kids and wait... Then hit up my Hubby for an idea... He's WAY more clever than I am... Go figure... Dragon idolizes him... They seem to understand each other... Hey! I just write this stuff... They live it!
