Bottom of the Tank
When I sit down to write my poetry
And my mind goes totally blank
Must admit at times I wonder
Have I reached the bottom of the tank?
So I say to myself, hang in there self
It's happened many times before
Just when I think I've hit the bottom
Out pops a whole bunch more
Should know by now how it all works
These lulls are a temporary thing
Something will always trigger a concept
And once again my poetry sings
So the key word surely is patience
Rome wasn't built in a day
I'll be hit by some poetic thunderbolt
And again I'll be on my way
When I sit down to write my poetry
I think of how much I've been blessed
Still have the ability to express myself
Goes a long way to relieving stress!
